Well, I have over 20 years of visual communications experience and I think I’m pretty awesome at what I do as a Brand Architect…
Art has been a part of my world since I can remember. My mother made large signs for national conventions, painted murals, designed and made clothes for kids, adults, and whole wedding parties, and she even made uniforms. I’ve been surrounded by visual creative expressions my entire life and couldn’t get away from it if I tried.
I got my start making church bulletins for the youth services at my then-home church using Word and Paint…I really was killin’ it when I think about what I’ve created with those two programs. By my junior year in high school, I started creating textile swatches and designing suits and casual attire again using Word and paint. My designs got the attention of FIDM and I just knew that I was going to be this world-renowned fashion designer…BOOM, CRASH, BURN…went my dream. Four years later I attempted to go after my fashion design dream again and it just didn’t work. My fashion dreams didn’t work but I was then introduced to visual communications and would you know, I graduated with my BFA 3 years later and have been designing, marketing, and branding every since!
I got my professional start consulting and designing for nonprofit and religious organizations. Due to my freelance experience, I was exposed to the way large corporations marketed and designed campaigns. This exposure created a desire to merge the corporate model of marketing and design with adverting practices for my nonprofit and religious organizations…I wanted to show them how design and marketing go hand in hand…not every client got it or wanted to get it…fast-forward, some are finally getting it.
I’ve been blessed to design for some notable organizations and clients that are still standing and going strong today…you’d be surprised if I told you who I’ve designed for. It brings me lots of joy to bring to life ideas that have been looking for a space to live. The ability to create is an honor because I get to express God’s desire in the earth for my clients.
